The Texas A&M system board of regents is told that “teaching laboratory space likely represents the most significant bottleneck for teaching undergraduate life science majors.” That was part of the reason the regents at their August 1st meeting, approved a $12 million dollar renovation of the fourth floor of A&M’s Heldenfels building to start in September 2024 instead of 2025. A&M associate vice president for facilities Les Williams says the labs, which will be used by the biology, biomedical sciences, and nutrition programs, will be completed in the summer of 2026.
