City of Bryan Health and Wellness Center Expands to Include Bryan ISD Employees

The Bryan school board earlier this month approved and the city council on Tuesday gave its blessing to use a health and wellness center operated by St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

Superintendent Tommy Wallis says it’s been discussed for several years and the timing was right to join in an effort to reduce illness among teachers, which affects classroom performance.

Dr. Wallis says Bryan ISD employees will have access starting January 1.

The additional employees and family members will result in relocating the center from 2010 Villa Maria to 2308 Villa Maria, which has more space.

City employees have had access for more than four years. Councilman Rafael Pena and Mayor Jason Bienski was among those welcoming the Bryan ISD employees.

According to the city, the center will serve 1,988 city employees and family members and 3,566 BISD employees and families.
