City of Bryan Catching Up to ADA Requirements

The City of Bryan is 18 years behind complying with laws accomodating the disabled.

That was the opening statement during a city council workshop held earlier this week.

While Assistant Public Works Director Alton Rogers reported new construction projects addressing the disabled, a list is also being compiled where the council will be asked to make future budget decisions on making modifications to existing sidewalks, curbs, and buildings.

Answering a question from councilman Art Hughes, Rogers says the city plan will meet state as well as the federal Americans with Disabilities Act.
