Christmas Weekend DWI Arrests

A Christmas night crash in the Steep Hollow area east of Bryan…where a vehicle rolled several times…resulted in the driver going first to the hospital then to jail. 25 year old Flaviano Rodriguez was released after posting bond following his arrest for drunk driving and driving with an invalid license with a prior conviction. According to the arrest report from a Department of Public Safety trooper, Rodriguez has 30 active suspensions on his drivers license. After Rodriguez was found staggering down the roadway from the crash at FM 1179 and Merka Road, the driver said he had way too much to drink.

A Caldwell woman involved in a crash west of Easterwood Airport the Friday before Christmas is out of jail following her arrest for drunk driving with two prior convictions and possession of marijuana. According to the arrest report from a Department of Public Safety trooper, 52 year old Roxanne Walden attempted a turn off FM 60 to White Creek Road, but she drove into a deep ditch. Her breath alcohol levels tested around .12, which is one and a half times the legal limit. A six month old girl in a car seat that was unsecured was released to the baby’s mother.

The driver of a pickup accused of being in a hit and run crash the afternoon of Christmas Eve stopped about four miles away. In between the collision at North Texas and Old Hearne and the area of South College and Villa Maria…according to the Bryan police arrest report…the truck ran a red light, almost struck a bicyclist, struck a light pole, drive off the road to a sidewalk and back to the street, then coming to a stop before going into a deep ditch on Lakeway. A photo taken by the victims of the hit and run matched the driver who stopped. 25 year old Nilson Ramero of Bryan, who was arrested for drunk driving, is also being held in jail for immigration authorities.
