This Sunday, get into the Christmas spirit with the annual Bryan College Station Christmas parade.
Parade co-chair Penny Zent says there will be 113 entries to enjoy starting at 2:30 p. m. Sunday afternoon with the Rudder High School Band leading off.
Zent says because of the changed start time and number of activities going on around town, it’s a good idea to get to your favorite viewing place earlier than usual.
She says there will be floats, bands, horses, and more, but some familiar faces will be missed.
Zent says Marvin Small, known to many as the Cat in the Hat, passed away this year, but next year, his great grandson will don the hat and tail to continue the tradition.
She says as usual, Santa will serve as the gran finale to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, with his helpers collecting children’s letters throughout the parade.
There is a slight chance of rain, so stay tuned to Candy 95 for updates, just in case the parade is cancelled.

With real winter weather in store, the 87th Annual B/CS Christmas Parade will step off at exactly 2:30PM on Sunday.
University Drive between Texas Avenue and S. College will close between 1:30 and 2PM. Polo Road into Campus will close at 1:30. New Main Drive will close to traffic at 8AM. Texas Avenue will be closed starting at 1:30 from University Drive to near Villa Maria.
The weather is expected to be cold, but without rain at the parade start, so Parade Officials do not expect a weather related cancellation. Co-Chair Penny Zent said, “It’s perfect Christmas weather; 45° with no rain. Dress warmly and let’s have a parade!”
The Parade starts at Polo Road on campus and proceeds east on University before turning north onto Texas Avenue. This year the annual Jingle Bell Run will begin at 2:15 and precede the Parade along the route. The parade route can be found at BCSParade.com.
