Monday, October 3rd is the grand opening of clothing store for College Station ISD students in need.
Chrissy’s Closet is a free store, which carries new or gently-used clothes, shoes, coats and personal hygiene products.
Kelly Kovacs, Director of Instruction and Leadership Development, helped found Chrissy’s Closet and said the store is named for Chrissy Hester, who for more than 30 years served as a CSISD counselor and principal and is currently Director for Student Services.
Kovacs said any student, teacher or staff member and their family can shop at the store.
“We’ll sort of limit five items, at the beginning, per child in the family or staff member, but if there is an additional need, we would like to fill that for any family,” said Kovacs.
Chrissy’s Closet, located at College View High school on George Bush Drive, is open Monday’s from 4 to 6 p.m.
