Children in Acid Assault Out of Hospital

DALLAS (AP) _ All four children splashed with sulfuric acid during a fight between their mother and her boyfriend are out of the hospital and in the care of Texas child welfare officials.

Child Protective Services spokeswoman Marissa Gonzales tells The Dallas Morning News in Tuesday’s online edition that three of the children were released last month.

The youngest of the children, then ages 14, 7, 4 and 1 1/2, was released from Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas days after the January incident.

Officials say Cynthia Darlene Stout, 43, the children’s mother, and Tracy Lynn Escobedo, 27, face four counts of first-degree felony injury. Their arraignment is Friday.

The incident happened near Woodbine, about 80 miles north of Dallas.
