The Bryan school board has approved changes affecting students attending Bryan Collegiate High School.
Among three requests from Principal Christina Richardson was one allowing weighted credit for certain classes taken at Blinn College. If students leave Collegiate, Richardson says weighted credit will not transfer to other Bryan district high schools.
Collegiate students taking dual credit classes at Blinn College will face tougher standards for completing assignments.
Also added is a reteach and retest policy.
Richardson also shared with the board a student request to add competitive swimming. Currently, Bryan Collegiate has UIL cross country and academic competition.
85 percent of the student body are from families who have never attended college and 70 percent come from low income families.
