Ceremony Marking Sale of Kalon Biotherapeutics to FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies

An international audience was at the Bush Library participating in the formal announcement selling a pharmaceutical company founded by the Texas A&M System to investors from Japan.

What was known as Kalon Biotherapeutics is now FDB, which is short for FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies.

FDB purchased a 49 percent interest with the option of acquiring the rest of Kalon.

Negotiations began 15 months ago, then were finalized during an 11 day period that ended Thursday with a program in the library auditorium featuring nine speakers, followed by a ceremonial signing in the library rotunda.
