Centerville ISD school board members accept the resignations of the district’s superintendent and a board member.

Interim superintendent Dottie Sullivan tells WTAW News that Carole Dickey’s resignation is effective at the end of June.

Sullivan says Dickey for the remainder of the school year was reassigned to the role of superintendent emeritus.

Dickey, who had been on administrative leave, is awaiting a criminal trial on a felony charge of concealing inappropriate conduct by a district employee.

Last October, the board issued a statement that they did not believe she intended to conceal allegations against a former Centerville teacher.

Also at Monday night’s meeting, board member Trampas Rodell resigned. Sullivan told WTAW News Rodell resigned to devote more time with the Centerville volunteer fire department.

The remaining board members approved appointing Joel Smith to serve the remainder of Rodell’s term.
