A table of police officers had their lunch interrupted when a car crashed through the wall near their table at Casa Rodriguez in downtown Bryan.
Debbie Rodriguez, the owner, said employees called her around 11:30 a.m. to tell her a car had just come through the side of the building.
Rodriguez said the accident happened when two cars were backing up at the same time. One car honked at the other, which was closest to the building. Instead of hitting the brakes, the man hit the gas pedal, sending his car into the side of the building.
Rodriguez said they have to close the restaurant to get things cleaned up, but hope to be open by Tuesday evening. Complete construction on the wall will take a few weeks.
No one was hurt in the accident.
