The candidate filing period for the May 9 election starts Monday in Bryan and College Station.

College Station City Secretary Connie Hooks says the requirements to run are similar in both Bryan and College Station.
You must be a registered voter and Texas resident, 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions.
In College Station you need to have lived in the community for at least a year.
