Campus Carry Starts Monday At Four Year Universities But NOT At Texas Community Colleges

Monday marks the start of new handgun campus carry laws at four year universities in Texas.

But the new regulations do not start at 50 community colleges in Texas until this time NEXT year.

Blinn College spokesman Richard Bray says later implementation was also part of Senate Bill 11 that was passed last session.

That means Blinn will continue enforcing their firearms ban at all locations.

Blinn is forming a task force whose members will look at what the four year universities have done. Task force recommendations will go to Blinn’s president next February.

Concealed carry is mandated at Texas community colleges starting August 1 of 2017.
