A Caldwell woman was killed in a crash Monday night that closed the westbound lanes of Highway 21 in west Bryan for four and a half hours.
The DPS preliminary investigation indicated a semi-trailer failed to yield the right of way while turning out of a private driveway onto the highway near Pleasant Hill Road.
A westbound car struck the rear of the semi-trailer, killing the driver of the car.
She was identified as 26 year old Miranda Meckel.
The truck driver was not injured.
DPS responded to the crash Monday at approximately 6:20 p.m. The westbound lanes were reopened just after 10:30 p.m.
