BVFB Feast of Caring

The Brazos Valley Food Bank is going to hold their 16th annual Feast of Caring fundraiser Wednesday.

Click to hear WTAW’s Chris Clift talk with BVFB Executive Director Theresa Mangapora:

The Feast of Caring is a simple picnic style lunch including beans, rice, sausage, salad and dessert representing the best lunch some of our neighbors in the Brazos Valley ever get.

The meal is free and served by local celebrities.

Funds are raised through donations being accepted for the meal.

In 2008 the event served about 1,500 people and raised $22,000.

This year Mangapora says the goal is to bring in at least $30,000.

The Feast of Caring is Wednesday from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Brazos Center.
