Bryan’s Mayor Announces Manufactured Home Protest Petition Falls Short

Bryan mayor Andrew Nelson has announced the effort to overturn last month’s city council decision to end placement of manufactured homes on stand alone lots has failed.

There were hundreds of signatures to protest petitions calling on the Bryan city council to vote again, and require a supermajority, to approve the elimination of placement of manufactured homes on stand alone lots.

But mayor Andrew Nelson said the protest petition failed in part after generating only one valid signature.

Nelson said if all the signatures were valid, they did not represent the minimum 20 percent of acreage to force the second council vote.
