For the first time, Texas wines are available online at Amazon.
One of six wineries selected from Texas is Bryan’s Messina Hof.
Paul Bonarrigo says the process took six months as Amazon cleared hurdles to ship to Texas customers among other things.
Bonarrigo says Messina Hof fit what Amazon was looking for in a winery as being family owned and a mid-sized facility.
Bonarrigo says Amazon will complement their local operations which includes tasting facilities in Bryan and Fredericksburg and their Bryan bed and breakfast.
And there’s a statewide economic benefit that Bonarrigo says includes “everything from the grapes, the vineyards, to the glass, to the labels, to everything that is involved with the process we try to keep that money within the state with our Texas suppliers.”
Out of 10,000 wineries in the U.S., Bonarrigo says 300 are in Amazon’s wine section.
