For the second time, the Bryan school board considered who sill be in charge of an expansion of athletic facilities at Rudder HIgh.
After changing the selection process following concerns of local architects and builders, the board unanimously voted to negotiate with a Dallas-based corporation.
Assistant Superintendent Amy Drozd, who was the facilitator for the search committee, says Balfour-Beatty Construction was among eight candidates.
The committee’s scoring and ranking, including proposals from two local firms, won’t be released until after the board approves a contract.
The project is estimated to cost $2,749,000. That includes expanding the Rudder High fieldhouse at $1,575,000 and a $405,000 air conditioning chiller to service the current and future portions of the fieldhouse.
The remaining $769,000 would go towards outdoor concession stands, restrooms, bleachers, and fields.
