A special meeting of the Bryan school board has been called for Wednesday evening.

Board president Doug Wunneburger says they will be talking about superintendent Tommy Wallis’s contract.

Dr. Wallis, who was hired in April 2011, has not responded to messages seeking comment.

Wallis’s contract runs through June 30th of 2019 after it was extended by the board in March.

A nearly daily user of Twitter, as of 5 p.m. Friday Wallis has not originated a tweet since Tuesday.

And he did not post on his blog Friday as he has the last three weeks with a “Fantastic Fridays” column.

Dr. Wunneburger says Wallis is not suspended or terminated.

Wednesday’s meeting starts at 6 p.m. Wunneburger says the board will go into executive session and will not take action when they are finished.
