Bryan School Board Continues Preparations For Full Day Pre-Kindergarten

Registration is underway for the first year of all day pre-kindergarten classes in the Bryan school district.

Associate superintendent Barbara Ybarra told the school board at its last meeting parents need to register now instead of waiting until later in the summer as has been past practice.

That’s because administrators want to know to staff and equip classrooms for not only state-funded pre-K for qualifying students, but also the district’s first full day tuition based program.

At the last meeting, Bryan school board members approved equipping up to 20 more pre-K classrooms at a cost of $30,000 dollars per room.

BISD also plans on hiring 20 more teachers and 26 more teacher aides.
