The Bryan Planning and Zoning Commission has unanimously advanced to the city council, two proposed business moves from College Station.
One is moving Rockies nightclub from the mall and building a country and western dance hall on east Highway 30 between Elmo Weedon and Hardy Weedon Road. P&Z member Bobby Gutierrez was among those driving through the area and was glad to hear about a replacement for the Texas Hall of Fame, which closed last year.

Also forwarded to the council was a conditional use permit allowing Arsenal Tattoo to open in downtown Bryan.
A fifth requirement was added to the list, that the public can’t see customers from the south or west sides of the building at 26th and Sims.
That’s in addition to staff requirements that there is no sale of smoking supplies and paraphernalia, there is no body piercing or other form of body modification, follow city rules on off-street parking, privacy fencing, and freestanding signage, and business hours are Tuesday through Saturday from noon until 9 p.m.
Most of the P&Z discussion was about the closing time, which owner Cliff Collard said he was locking the doors at 8 p.m. in order to finish by 9.

Neither request is on the agenda for the August 6 council meeting.
