Bryan Police Seek Suspects in Gun Crimes

A man was sent to the hospital for a gunshot wound and Bryan Police are looking for the shooter.

At 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday officers responded to reports of gunfire and an armed man running through a parking lot near the intersection of Old College and College Main.

The 21-year-old victim ran when police arrived, but they caught up and saw he had a serious, but non-life-threatening injury.

Police found a handgun in a sweep of the area and drugs on the victim while at Saint Joseph.

They said the victim described the shooter as a white or Hispanic male and about 5-foot 7-inches.

An attempted armed robbery occurred  at Woody’s on South College about 20 minutes later.

Police said the suspect, described as a Hispanic male, entered the store with his face covered and carrying a handgun when he saw a clerk, turned around and left.

No one was injured and no property was stolen.
