Bryan Police Report Fake Officer Stops A Motorist And Steals A Drivers License

Bryan police issue a public advisory after a motorist had their drivers license stolen by a man who impersonated himself as a police officer.

This took place Friday night on Highway 21 between Sims and MLK.

The victim reported being pulled over by a man driving an unmarked white Ford Crown Victoria equipped with red and blue lights.

The impersonator, who was wearing a long sleeve black shirt that was not a uniform and carrying a gun on his hip, spoke with the victim before the victim handed over his drivers license.

The driver is described as a white man approximately six feet tall and 230 pounds.

The vehicle is described as an older model unmarked white Ford Crown Victoria with red and blue lights by the rear view mirror with a spotlight on the drivers side and black rims.

BPD advises that local law enforcement will be driving marked vehicles, will be dressed in a uniform and will identify themselves when they approach you.

Anyone who sees or comes in contact with this person is asked to call BPD at 979-361-3888 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
