One Bryan man is dead and another Bryan man accused of killing him is in jail.

Bryan Police were notified about the shooting at 3 a.m. Sunday at the Image Apartments on Finfeather Road.

Officer Kelley McKethan says 23 year old Andres Tula-Penaloza was standing outside his SUV when he was shot.

About one and a half hours later, 39 year old Sosimo Gonzalez was arrested at his house for murder.

Gonzalez is also being held for immigration officials.

McKethan says the shooting followed the victim and suspect coming in contact with each other Saturday night at a College Station nightclub.

According to the arrest report, the victim’s ex-girlfriend became mad after seeing him dance with two other women.

A witness said Gonzalez got out of a car driven by the victim’s ex-girlfriend. The witness, who called 9-1-1, told police they saw Gonzalez fire multiple shots at Tula-Penaloza.

Investigators located five spent shell casings behind the victim’s SUV; which had its driver door window shattered, a bullet hole through a tire, and an exit bullet hole coming outside the drivers side door.

A second witness was sitting in the passenger front seat of the SUV. When the gunfire began they ducked until they heard the getaway car leave.

McKethan says neither witness was injured.
