Bryan police make an arrest in the armed robbery of a convenience store on May 14th. The BPD arrest report refers to a detective using video from several locations to identify the getaway vehicle to track down the suspect. A search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s phone that provided additional evidence. That led to the arrest of 22 year old Juan Demmon of Bryan for using a knife to threaten a clerk at the 7-11 store at South College and Carson and taking $170 dollars from a cash register. The employee was not injured. Demmon is out of jail after posting a $75,000 dollar bond.

The same day a Bryan man was released from jail after posting bond on a theft charge from one Bryan retail store, he returns to jail for a theft that took place from a second Bryan retail store. The Bryan police arrest report says 27 year old Javier Roel Solis Jr. admitted to stealing a pair of Air Force shoes on April 18th and a guitar on May 9th. The officer who made the arrest wrote that Solis believed because he was arrested, the shoes and the guitar now belong to him. Solis, who has been in jail since his latest arrest last Friday (May 31), remains held as of June 5th in lieu of a $2,000 dollar bond. Online records show he is scheduled for a court appearance on the guitar theft charge on July 8.
