A Bryan police officer on patrol in the Castle Heights neighborhood off east Highway 21 Saturday (September 20) at 3:30 in the morning sees a car parked in a driveway with a door partially opened and an overhead light on. The officer contacted the car owner and learned a variety of items was missing. A short time later, another officer sees a man walking a couple of blocks away with what turns out to be the victim’s backpack containing the victim’s Air Jordan shoes, a laptop charger, and money from the Bank of England and the Bahamas. That leads to the arrest of 18 year old Craig Chambers for vehicle burglary. Chambers remains jailed as of September 22nd in lieu of a $17,000 dollar bond. The arrest report does not say if the victim’s car was locked.
