Bryan Planning & Zoning Commission To Pursue A Second Attempt At A Downtown Area Historical District

The Bryan planning and zoning commission (P&Z) has the green light from the city council to continue working on another attempt to establish a historical district in and around the downtown area.

That was among the topics during a recent joint meeting of the advisory and governing bodies.

P&Z chairman Bobby Gutierrez says a local attorney is willing to lead the second attempt…something he said was missing the first time.

P&Z members brought up the district as a way to protect and grow revitalization in downtown Bryan.

Councilman Reuben Marin, whose district includes that area, says it needs to be a smaller geographic area compared to the first attempt.
