Bryan Police has stepped up patrol of the Earl Rudder Freeway in construction zones.
Lt. Sharean Gideon says they’re getting calls of freeway drivers going through grassy areas to the service roads to avoid slowdowns.
The current crackdown follows two wrecks Tuesday on the freeway near Briarcrest.
Because TxDOT has scheduled freeway repairs through September, Gideon says Bryan Police will have increased enforcement throughout the period.
