A news release from the district attorney’s office also says the jury convicted 49 year old Bobby Williams Jr. for evading arrest with a prior conviction.
The trial judge sentenced Williams to a controlling sentence of eight years for the felonies.
Prosecutors say the crimes happened after BPD responded to a disturbance created by Williams in September 2022.
Online records show the jury found Williams not guilty of attempting to take a weapon from an officer.
A spokeswoman in the DA’s office says Williams is awaiting three more trials in Brazos County. One is from a May 2023 arrest for felony possession of a controlled substance. Another is from a March 2023 arrest for misdemeanor resisting arrest. And the third is from a September 2022 arrest for misdemeanor resisting arrest and criminal trespassing.
