A Bryan man waiting to be tried in a 2011 indictment is found not guilty of crimes in a 2017 indictment:
A Brazos County district court jury acquitted 32 year old Eric Macias on charges of sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact.
Macias was indicted in January following a woman’s report to the the district attorney’s office, as prosecutors were preparing for a trial related to the 2011 indictment, which involves allegations reported by the woman’s younger sister.
The verdict was reached Wednesday after five hours of deliberation.
According to online records, Macias has had seven trial dates come and go regarding the first case, where he was indicted in April 2011.
No trial date has been reset in the 2011 indictment, where Macias is accused of indecency with a child nine years ago.
