A Brazos County District Court jury has convicted a Bryan man of sexual assault that started when the victim was 12.
Assistant District Attorney Kara Comte says the victim waited until she was 16 to report the contact, after Frederick Pitts went to jail on an unrelated case.
Comte says the victim testified at this week’s trial at the age of 21.

Comte says jurors were given notes written by Pitts to the victim that were sexually explicit and revealed Pitts’ intent.
Pitts, now 36 years old, was sentenced to 30 years in an agreement that Comte says had the support of the victim.
