Bryan ISD’s Johnson Elementary School Has Another New Principal

The new year in the Bryan school district means a new elementary school principal.

The principal at Johnson elementary, JoLyn Bricker, left after one semester to return to her former central office position as as the district’s assistant director of curriculum and instruction, a position that was still vacant.

The Bryan ISD school board voted 5-0 Monday to appoint Johnson assistant principal Amy Thomman as interim principal.

Executive director of school leadership Crystal Goodman told the board Thomman has been in her current position since 2011 and before that was a two time teacher of the year at Johnson.

Bricker took over for Amy Newbold, who spent three years at Johnson. Newbold followed Carol Happ, who spent 20 years at Johnson.
