Bryan ISD Thanks Blinn College For Renegotiating Payment For Teaching Collegiate HS Students

Bryan school district administrators thank their counterparts from Blinn College for making adjustments to a new contract for providing instructors at Bryan Collegiate High School.

Superintendent Christie Whitbeck and associate superintendent Barbara Ybarra were among those involved in the negotiations.

This is the first year Blinn is charging Bryan ISD for teaching the dual credit students.

The initial estimate was $124,000 dollars, of which Bryan was supposed to pay half or $64,000.

Then it was determined the cost was going to double, based on factors that included the price of more experienced Blinn instructors.

The renegotiated contract calls for Bryan to pay one fourth of the cost this year, which will be around $60,000 dollars.

The sliding scale goes to 50 percent next year, 75 percent in two years, and the entire bill in three years.
