The Bryan school district has a fleet of 110 buses. For the first time, administrators asked the Board of Trustees to set aside money for the purchase of used buses.
Hours after the trustees said yes, Chief Financial Officer Amy Drozd says the transportation department purchased low mileage school busses at a fraction of the price of a new unit.

Assistant Transportation Director Jay Anding says the district purchased three buses that hold 71 passengers. When purchased new ten years ago, the price was around $60,000 dollars.
Drozd says the district paid $17,000 for all three.
