News release from Bryan ISD:

The Bryan ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 2024-2025 budget during the June 17, 2024, regular board meeting. The budget includes a $1,000 signing bonus for new teachers, a 2% stipend in September for all returning employees, a 2% stipend in December for all employees, and a 2% stipend in May for all employees below the A6/T6 pay grade. No employees will receive less than $500, as compared to $250 last year. Employees above the A6/T6 pay grade, listed in this document, will receive a 1% stipend in May.

All teachers, librarians, registered nurses and counselors also will receive their salary step increase.

Budgets have been a topic of conversation in school districts throughout Texas as the federal ESSER fund grant program ends in September and additional funding from the state was not approved during the most recent Texas Legislative sessions. Public schools in the state of Texas have not seen a change in the basic allotment, which provides a majority of funding from the state, since 2019.

This year’s budget also marks a change in Bryan ISD’s budgetary year, with the budget year now beginning on July 1 instead of September 1.

We are very thankful for the school board’s commitment to and investment in our Bryan ISD staff at a time when Texas public schools are facing difficult budgetary decisions.
