Bryan High School Evacuated Following Smoke From A Failed HVAC Motor

Bryan and College Station firefighters were sent to the campus of Bryan High School Monday afternoon just before dismissal.

Bryan ISD spokesman Brandon Webb says the report of smoke from the smaller gym led to an evacuation.

Two students were injured, one who was in a wheelchair that overturned and one who was either pushing or was near the wheelchair that overturned.

Webb says the source of the smoke was a failed heating-air conditioning motor. An air scrubber was going to be brought in to remove the smell.

Webb says once the scene was cleared, school officials released students to dismissal for the day.
