City and school officials are hoping for a crowd of Vikings fans wearing blue lining Oakridge Street from the fieldhouse to Briarcrest.
The buses are leaving Friday at 3 p.m.
Kickoff for Friday night’s game in Waller against Richmond George Ranch is at 6.
Bryan gets the home side of the stadium.
Advance tickets are on sale at the fieldhouse Wednesday and Friday morning from eight until noon.
News release from the city of Bryan:
Forget “Black Friday,” in Bryan it’s “Blue Friday.” In support of the Bryan High School Vikings Football team advancing to regional playoffs, citizens are asked to be part of a “blue wall” to send the team off in style.
The buses carrying the football team will depart from the Bryan High School Field House, located at 3310 Oakridge Drive, at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014, with an escort provided by local first responders. Supporters are encouraged to join in Blue Friday by wearing blue and lining Oakridge Drive between the field house and Briarcrest Drive prior to the buses departing.
“We are so proud to have such an outstanding group of young men represent the City of Bryan in the Regional Playoffs,” said Mayor Jason Bienski. “It’s been a long time since we’ve gone this far in playoffs and we want to show that the whole city is cheering for them. We hope those who can’t make the trip to Waller will join the blue wall and wave our Vikings on to victory.”
Tickets for the game can be purchased tomorrow and Friday at the Bryan High School Field House between 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate for $10. Bryan Vikings will be the home team against Richmond George Ranch on Friday at 6 p.m. in Waller.
