Bryan FD Changes Policy After Theft

The Bryan Fire Department has made some changes after an ambulance was stolen early Sunday morning.

Click to hear WTAW’s Chris Clift talk with Chief Mike Donaho:

Donaho says they have never had a problem like this before, but because of the theft crews are now instructed to take the keys from the vehicle.

They are also looking into measures that would make the ambulance starting procedure involve more steps, which is currently the case for fire trucks.

The medics who were on duty when their ambulance was stolen will not face discipline, although the entire department has received counseling in response to the incident.

Lawrence Reyes is facing first degree felony theft charges for allegedly taking an item worth more than $200,000
