A local child care worker has been arrested by Bryan Police for not immediately reporting a baby being hurt.

53 year old Freddie Walton of Bryan is accused of child endangerment.

Officer Kelley McKethan says the arrest follows a six week investigation, which began in mid-September when a five month old boy was hospitalized for a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.

According to the arrest report, the baby fell from Walton’s lap and hit his head on the floor.

Walton told investigators the infant rolled on the floor and bumped his head on a table.

McKethan says the child has been released from the hospital.

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services says Camelot Learning Center, where the incident took place, is open and can appeal a citation issued for failing to ensure no child is abused, neglected, or exploited.
