Townhomes Destroyed in Bryan Fire

Firefighters from Bryan and College Station responded to a four-alarm fire at the Old Oaks Townhomes and Oakwood Gardens Townhomes on Carter Creek Parkway Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was first reported about 2 p.m. with units from both cities responding. At 2:26 p.m., volunteers from Brazos County Precincts 2, 3, and 4 were dispatched with one engine each.

Power was cut to the areas as crews battled the blaze. For a time, firefighters went “defensive only”, meaning they did not send crews inside out of safety concerns.

Only two injuries were reported. A firefighter was taken to the hospital for dehydration and an ankle injury. Another firefighter was treated for unknown injuries.
