The Bryan City Council Tuesday night took action on a proposed fiscal year (FY) 2014 budget that calls for another reduction in the property tax rate.
The FY 14 tax rate is proposed to be .6299 cents, compared to .6333 in FY 13 and .6364 in FY 12.
Next year’s budget also calls for no rate increase for Bryan water, wastewater, and refuse customers.
At some point, BTU customers will have an additional state-mandated charge related to the construction of wind farms in west and north Texas.
There will be public hearings on August 27 and September 10 and special meetings Sepember 17 and September 24.
