Bryan Council Considers Long Term Animal Shelter Agreement Tuesday

For more than a year, the Bryan City Council and Brazos Animal Shelter have had an on-again, off-again series of negotiations for a long term agreement.

Tuesday night, the council considers a 15 year contract with the option of making it 25 years.

Mayor Jason Bienski doesn’t like the idea of staying at the city’s longtime facility.

Tuesday afternoon, the council hears from the shelter board president.

The shelter has proposed for next year receiving an increase of $80,000 dollars from Bryan. That’s after getting an additional $153,000 this year. The recommendation from city staff is an increase of $15,000 dollars.
