Bryan Council Considers Alarm Agreement

The Bryan City Council heard a presentation Tuesday night regarding an agreement with an outside company to increase compliance with their security alarm ordinance.

Irving based PMAM representative George Robertson says fees for an alarm permit and the fine for more than three false alarms per year would be unchanged under the proposal.

PMAM would keep 44 percent of all fees and fines under the proposal.

A residential alarm permit currently costs $75 for 3 years, while the fine for false alarms can vary because it is set on a case by case basis in municipal court.

Robertson says the Bryan Police Department supports the proposal.
