Bryan Council Asked to Cancel May Election

The Bryan City Council has a special meeting Tuesday, one designed to save money.

City Secretary Mary Lynne Stratta has asked the council to cancel the city election and certify incumbents Chuck Konderla and Ann Horton as winners.

Comments from Mary Lynne Stratta.

Stratta estimates the savings at between $15,000 and $20,000 dollars.

Stratta and some city employees will still be working May 14th. They will administer the Bryan school board’s contested race for the at-large position and a special question in Wixon Valley, were residents are being asked to raise the city sales tax 1/2 cent for general revenue. The city will be paid for assisting the other jurisdictions.
