Bryan Council Approves RVP Board Expansion

Changes to the governing board of the Research Valley Partnership (RVP) economic development agency have the support of two of the three major funding partners.

The Bryan city council voted 4-2 on Tuesday to expand the overall board from 18 to 21.

Al Saenz was one of two who wanted to delay action to add two people from Texas A&M and a third of the RVP’s choosing.

Mayor Jason Bienski voted for expanding the RVP board.

The Brazos County commission previously approved the RVP request, while the College Station city council voted against the request last week in order to get a voting member on the agency’s executive board.

Joining Bienski were Art Hughes, Chuck Konderla, and Greg Owens.

Voting with Saenz was Mike Southerland.
