The Bryan city council at its last meeting approved its annual contract with the agency that operates Twin Oaks landfill in Grimes County.
That’s after the council was told the city’s fee is going down for the third time in the eight years that the landfill has been opened.
Bryan Griesbach of the Brazos Valley Solid Waste Management Agency (BVSWMA) told the Bryan council they are making more money and spending less compared to this year’s budget.
Griesbach also told the council another 400 acres of land has been purchased. That gives the landfill a life expectancy of an estimated 120 to 140 years.
