The Bryan city council awards a $1.3 million dollar contract to replace the fuel station for city vehicles at the municipal services center on Waco Street.
City manager Kean Register said at the January council workshop meeting that city vehicles consume about 550,000 gallons of fuel a year.
Register said the city receives a fuel discount that will pay for this project in five years.
Two fuel tanks will be replaced, a 12,000 gallon unleaded tank with a 30,000 gallon tank and a 24,000 gallon tank with a 30,000 gallon tank.
The project, which will take about one year to complete, also adds new technology to monitor fuel consumption and provide anti-theft protection among other things.
