Members of the Bryan city council and planning and zoning commission have no opposition to any of the recommendations changing land use designations from south of downtown to the College Station city limits.
The Midtown recommendations seen Tuesday by the council and P&Z can be seen Wednesday during an open house from four until six p.m. at Harmony school on South Texas.
That includes a major makeover of the intersection at South College and Old College.
Matt Hoffman, who is one of the six consultants hired by the council last year, says Old College would become a one way private road between South College and Howdy Lane.
It is a makeover that is supported by the three major property owners in what’s also being called the Union Hill area.
Hoffman told council and P&Z members that would be part of creating 300 parking spaces, expanding current businesses, and repurposing one vacant building.
The consultants also responded to mayor Andrew Nelson’s announcement that an indoor sports and multipurpose building at the new superpark will be completed in the next 18 to 24 months.
Consultants told the city leaders to expect proposed zoning changes along South College by the end of this month.
