The Bryan city council agrees to settle a lawsuit over a demolition order given by the city’s building and standards commission.
In October 2022, a Bryan business property owner sued the commission.
The council at its April 14th meeting unanimously agreed to a settlement which moves ahead with the demolition of buildings south of Bryan High School off East 29th Street on Greenfield Plaza.

The city will waive the demolition permit fee. And both sides are responsible for their own legal expenses.
The only council comment came from James Edge, who said “I’m grateful to both parties for going through the effort to come to an agreement on this. It’s been sort a longstanding issue and I hope this is a sign that these parties ultimately moving forward can work together in a cooperative measure.”
