Bryan And College Station ISD School Boards Approve Bond Funded Contracts

Bryan ISD school board members during their June 3rd meeting awarded a contract to do interior and exterior renovations at five secondary campuses. That is despite BISD receiving only two bids out of more than 600 invitations that were sent. Assistant superintendent Kevin Beesaw say the bid that was awarded, for $1.9 million dollars, came in almost $900,000 under the engineer’s estimate. This summer’s projects, funded by voter approved bonds in 2020, will be done at the Stephen F. Austin school and performing arts center and at Rayburn, Davila, Long, and the M.C. Harris annex.

In November 2023, voters in College Station ISD approved issuing nearly $300 million dollars in bonds. During the CSISD school board meeting on May 21, approval was given without discussion to replace the heating and air conditioning system at Cypress Grove intermediate school. The $1.6 million dollar contract includes 58 rooftop units, six dedicated outside air systems, and 32 exhaust and supply fans.
